About

Liudmila Silina (Lucy) is a UK artist. She began painting at age 7 and attended a local art school for four years. While painting remained a hobby for many years, her move to the UK in 2012 allowed her to pursue art more seriously. Inspired by the English countryside, Lucy’s work often features landscapes and wildlife. Initially favouring oils, she discovered a passion for soft pastels during her studies at a Birmingham-based art course. Though it took some time to master the medium, pastels quickly became her preferred choice, as she enjoys blending them with her fingertips for a more intimate connection to her work.

Lucy exhibits regularly with the Stratford-upon-Avon Art Society and has participated in various competitions, including being a finalist at the Broadway Arts Festival in 2023. Her works have been displayed in galleries in Worcester, Pershore, and Cambridge.

Currently, she explores themes of dual cultural identity, seeking common ground through the universal experience of children’s games and happy childhood memories overall. This series of works reflects her belief in what unites us, rather than what divides.
